Hallelujah! Finally, a Sinner with some stones. Stepping up and BETTING THE RANCH! God bless you, Brother. Just to recapitulate what you're facing; Make the SWEEP? You receive a 5 point DIDDLE plus any other points your team accrues (move up, no drop, real life DIDDLE) AND you keep your 8 points in GG PLUS the 5 for the SWEEP. Nice. If you miss the SWEEP? Lose all 8 points, plus you drop minus 2 in the BRFL in addition to whatever the AP does to you (Drop, REAM, etc.) I'm almost hoping you pull this off just because of the sheer audacity of it.

DeleteTo correct the above comment, what SockPuppet was risking here was a potential bonanza of points in both GG and the BRFL. In GG he would have kept his 8 point wager plus received a double sweep award (10), giving him a total of 26 points on the season. In the BRFL he would have received 1 point for his team's win (Nebraska) and a DOUBLE DIDDLE, 10 points, for an 11 point weekend, moving him from minus 3 to +8.
ReplyDeleteAlas, he was betrayed by the Plainsmen. So he forfeits the 8 points he wagered in GG (he gets to keep the 2 points he got for his picks this week) so it's minus 6 in GG and he drops to 10 on the season.
In the BRFL he gets the GRRREAM, which is minus 5, plus he doesn't get the win point from Nebraska. Minus 3 on the season just became minus 8. Sad.
And that's it for SockPuppet. He has burned his bet the ranch shirt and it's an up hill slog from here on out.
Clarification; The Living Document doesn't say anything about what happens to the points your team may accumulate on the weekend you bet the ranch. So, SockPuppet should keep the 1 point for the Nebraska win which, added to his -5 GRRREAM gives him minus 4 on the weekend. Minus 3 becomes minus 7.
