Went to the TOSU v Wisco game in Columbus with McLovin' back in '07. Terrible performance by the TOSU Oline but they won anyway. Walking back toward downtown and looking to give the Bro a little tour of the campus we cut down past Mirror Lake toward West Campus where the Commissioner posted up for a few years. We found ourselves walking behind a drum major in full uniform fresh from the post game battle of the bands. This was early November, unseasonably mild, late afternoon in Columbus. The sprawling lawns of old campus covered with oak and buckeye leaves, late afternoon sun, the drum major carrying his tall white shako in one arm and I thought, man, that must be great. He walked into my old dorm, Baker Hall. The drum major. Fresh off a rousing TBDBITL performance. What fun!
Luckily I forgot all about it in an hour or so, after McLovin and I demolished a few pitchers and tractor tire-sized plates of nachos watching LSU play Alabama and MSU almost knock off scUM in a sports bar the size of an aircraft hangar. This was the infamous "Little Brother" game.

ReplyDeleteKinda hoped this story would go somewhere, like the drum major then turned, knocked McLovin' to the ground and proceeded to violate McLovin with his scepter. Then he high stepped it into his dorm. Then you and McLovin' went to a sports bar like nothing happened cuz this kinda thing happens to little bro regularly.
