Prepare ye for Season Fourteen

Brothers and Sisters,

I ran into QXXX at the Sports Center yesterday and we got to talkin' BRFL. The season is almost upon us. I'm sure you're all busy poring over your rule books but here are a few random thoughts from the BRFL back office, if you're bored;

It might take more than new unis to beat TOSU September 2nd but I like the look. It's a night game so, yeah, special.

Here's an interesting take on how the NCAA "free transfer" rule and the NIL contracts will change the face of College Football. The good news, for the BRFL, will be that all these transfers will make for some interesting picks. All eyes are on QXXX's Liberty pick this season, what with their Auburn transfer QB and all. Of course the jury's already in on transfers. Look no farther than Ohio State last year. Despite a woeful defense the Bucks ended up in the final of the CFP riding an outstanding O-line but also Trey Sermon (Oklahoma) who put the whole team on his back through the last 3 or 4 games and Justin Fields (Georgia) who was gifted to the Chicago Bears late in the draft and is lighting up the city with big shoulders already.

And, delving further into the Commissioner's musings, we're probably going to miss hating on the NCAA now that it's been gutted like a fish. And gutted by none other than Brett Kavanaugh who famously uttered the words, "I like beer!" during his tearful Supreme Court confirmation hearing. Brett's a douchebag, sure, but he was right about the NCAA.

Remember when you would shit your pants and murmur "oh, noooo..." when your team's star RB was spotted driving a brand new Lincoln Navigator to the clubs on Thursday night? You'd be thinking, "3 game suspension" or "He's done, god damn it!". The whole "local car dealer" thing was like poking the NCAA with a hot fork. Now? Players be like, "Ahhhh, what the fuck, I'll take the Tahoe but I don't really love the rims."
